I — First light

Leave the harbour

Meet at the dock while Prince Rupert is still quiet. Gear is already rigged — coffee in hand, lines stowed, and the Gladiator idles out past the breakwater into the mist.

Out to the grounds

Twin 300s push the 31-footer to the fish fast, so you spend the day fishing instead of travelling. Three Lowrance screens and radar find the bait, the structure and the fleet-free water.

Lines down

Islander reels out on the troll for chinook and coho — or straight to the halibut grounds if the tide says so. The plan flexes around the bite, not the other way round.
